iopt welcomes three new tech team members in March to bolster tech and data expertise

In March we welcomed Data Analyst, Ross Doyle and Developers,  Kirsty Adair and Thomas Toussaint to our growing team. Ross, Kirsty and Thomas are three key appointments for our team that bring extensive knowledge in their respective fields.

Developer, Kirsty Adair, with a previous history in desktop application development and a masters degree in Computer Science shared her experiences and motivation to get started

Having lived in social housing myself, experiencing the same problems as some of our customers such as damp and mould really inspired me to put my software development skills to an organisation in which I believe will make a difference. I find a lot of motivation and reward in taking problems which on the surface may look fairly complex, and then breaking it down into a neat solution, I’m keen to get started with the development on iOpt’s platform. Outside of work, I love a good trip to the pub with pals. Cross-stitching, yapping and playing games.

Experienced Data Analyst Ross mentioned how he is already enjoying his work with the data team at iOpt

“I’m excited to continue my work in data analysis and particularly energy performance. I’m proficient in several tools including Python, SQL and Excel and as a data analyst, I focus on presenting reports that can showcase the information we obtain at iOpt in an easy, digestible way for our clients to understand and be able to act upon for the benefit of their residents. Outside of work, I enjoy being active, playing Baseball and keeping up to speed with what’s new in data science!”

Senior Developer, Thomas Toussaint explained their motivation

“I’m happy to get started with iOpt, even though it’s early days there seems to be a genuine drive towards improvement and doing things well which is good to be a part of. Detecting issues with housing to help fix issues quicker is also very positive and rewarding.  My background is in software development, mainly web, Including programming languages such as  Typescript/Node, Python, Java, with strong experience with test-driven development. This experience will support my role at iOpt where I will help develop and maintain the web platform. Outside of work, I'm into tabletop games, model making and Blacksmithing.”

“We’re pleased to add even more expertise to our tech and data team with the appointments of Ross, Kirsty and Thomas. With the growing adoption of sensor technology across the sector, it’s essential for us to have experts who echo our values in place.

These new appointments are another example of our commitment to our customers to provide the highest quality of analysis possible and continuously build on our solution offering and ensure that they can realise the full value of the data.”
